Reiki And Healing

Reiki and healing go hand-in-hand, as you may have heard. After all, most people consider Reiki to be a complementary healing modality. However, Reiki practitioners and masters must always be careful when talking about Reiki in relation to healing. We must never make promises, and we must never say that it is certain that Reiki can heal a specific condition. What we can say is that the sense of well-being that a person feels after a Reiki treatment can create conditions where the body is better able to heal. But why is that? What are the mechanisms that help Reiki promote healing? That is what this article will explore.

It’s All About Energy

The word Reiki literally means Universal Life Force energy in Japanese. When you receive a Reiki treatment, the Reiki practitioner or master channels this energy into your being. Your being takes exactly the right quantity of Reiki, and the energy flows where it is needed. This is a passive process, and you don’t need to actively do anything for it to happen. This is because Reiki is universal and contains innate wisdom. The energy knows how much of it you need, and where it needs to go and what it needs to do. During and after this process, you may notice yourself getting rid of energies that you no longer need. This process can manifest itself in different ways. For example, you might experience an emotional release where you feel the need to cry. Sometimes, people may experience a mild headache, or other symptoms that cause a person to stop, rest or reflect. Sometimes people refer to this as a healing incident. If you have any questions about this, please be sure to speak to your Reiki master.

Reiki also contributes to a greater sense of self-awareness. As you receive Reiki treatments, you may find yourself becoming aware that certain aspects of your life feel off and that you might need to make adjustments. Often, these adjustments will present challenges that eventually contribute to your growth as a person. For example, you may find that you need to end a relationship that is no longer serving you, Or, you may find that you need to change jobs or move your home. Remember that with Reiki, healing happens on all levels of your being, not just the physical. Reiki can help you heal all aspects of your life.

Reiki and Healing – How Reiki Helps

One of the things that makes Reiki so powerful is its effect on the autonomic nervous system. This is the part of your nervous system that is responsible for functions such as your breathing, your heart rate, blood pressure etc. The autonomic nervous system is also responsible for your body entering what is know as “fight or flight”. When you sense danger, this part of the autonomic nervous system increases your heart rate in order to send blood to different organs in your body. This helps supply them with more oxygen. When you constantly feel stressed, or feel like you are in danger, even when you are not, the part of the autonomic nervous system called the sympathetic nervous system is always engaged. This creates unhealthy conditions where your body always has to work overtime to counteract the effects of this process.

There is evidence that Reiki can help your body calm down and reduce stress, then helping your body reduce your heart rate, blood pressure and the feeling of fear or anxiousness. This provides your body with an opportunity to save energy, help it heal from existing issues, and help it fight off new conditions. There is also evidence that Reiki can help improve sleep patterns and enhance the regenerative qualities of a good night’s sleep.
